One of the distinctive features of the Zimbabwean Catholic community at St. John the Apostle is its rich spiritual and cultural contributions. Zimbabwean Catholics bring with them a deep sense of devotion, and their religious celebrations often include African elements, such as traditional hymns, music, and dancing. This infusion of Zimbabwean culture enriches the liturgical life of the parish and provides a unique cultural experience for the broader congregation. The community is also known for its strong emphasis on family and community ties, which are central to their faith. Zimbabwean Catholics at St. John the Apostle frequently gather for prayer meetings, Bible studies, and social events that serve to strengthen their bonds and create a space where they can share experiences, challenges, and victories. The Zimbabwean community also plays an active role in the leadership of various church ministries at St. John the Apostle. They contribute to the liturgical ministries, such as serving as altar servers, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers. Our Chaplain is Father Myke Mwale.
